Use this if your domain’s DNS is managed at Cloudflare. See Connect a Custom Domain for the general rule.
Steps
- Sign in at dash.cloudflare.com and select your domain.
- In the left menu open DNS → Records.
- Select Add record.
- Set the fields:
- Type:
CNAME - Name: your subdomain only, e.g.
billing(Cloudflare shows the full name as you type) - Target:
app.ispbills.com - Proxy status: click the cloud so it is grey — DNS only (not the orange proxied cloud)
- TTL:
Auto
- Type:
- Select Save.
- Return to Partner → Domains, add your hostname and select Verify DNS.
The proxy status must be DNS only (grey cloud). While the record is proxied (orange), Cloudflare answers with its own addresses and hides the CNAME, so ISPbills cannot verify it. You may proxy it later only if instructed by support.
To use your root domain (yourbrand.com with no subdomain), Cloudflare’s CNAME flattening lets you enter @ as the name with target app.ispbills.com. A subdomain such as billing. is still the simplest choice.
