The Send SMS feature lets you dispatch an SMS to one customer or to several selected customers directly from the ISPbills dashboard. There are two ways to send.
Send to a single customer
Open a customer’s page and use the Send SMS action. Type the message and send. The message goes to the mobile number on the customer’s profile.
A single-customer message is delivered through your configured channels with automatic fallback: if WhatsApp is configured it is tried first, and SMS is used as a fallback. If both channels fail, ISPbills reports a delivery failure.
Send to selected customers
From a customer list, tick the customers you want to reach, choose the Send SMS bulk action, type the message, and confirm. Each selected customer with a valid mobile number receives the SMS in the background.
Composing the Message
The message is sent exactly as typed — there is no per-customer personalisation in Send SMS. Placeholders like a customer’s name or balance are not substituted here. (Automatic, tokenised messages are configured separately under Event SMS, the Due Date Notifier, and the Expiration Notifier.)
Keep messages concise: a single SMS holds 160 characters of plain text; longer messages are split into multiple parts and billed per part.
SMS Credits
Every outgoing message deducts from your account’s SMS balance. Make sure your balance is sufficient before sending to a large selection. You can check your balance and top up under Settings → SMS Gateway.
Delivery status
Sent messages are recorded in SMS History, where you can review the delivery status of each message and resend if needed.
