Overview
The Complaint Report gives you a month-by-month view of complaint volume by category for a chosen year. Use it to identify recurring issue types and spot seasonal or event-driven spikes.
Accessing the Report
Navigate to Complaints → Reports. The report opens for the current year.
Filter
The report has a single filter:
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Year | Choose a year to report on, or select All years. Defaults to the current year. |
Click Filter to refresh the results.
What the Report Shows
The report lists every month-and-category combination that had at least one complaint in the selected year:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Year | The report year. |
| Month | The month the complaints were filed. |
| Category | The complaint category. |
| Complaints Count | Number of complaints filed in that category during that month. |
| Action | A Details link that opens the matching complaints on the Archived Complaints page (filtered by that category, year, and month). |
Months and categories with no complaints are omitted, so the table shows only active issue types.
This report does not include department, resolution-rate, or average-resolution-time breakdowns. Use the filters on the complaints list, and each complaint’s ledger (its change history and elapsed time), for that level of detail.
Using the Report to Improve Service
- Watch which categories (e.g. No Internet or Slow Speed) consistently top the monthly counts — a recurring high-volume category points to a systemic issue worth investigating.
- Compare the same category across months to spot spikes that may correspond to network outages or billing events.
- Use the Details link to drill into the individual complaints behind any count.
